Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to update financials after earnings are released?

Our main financial data provider uses the annual (10-K) and quarterly (10-Q) SEC reports for the financial data.

This helps ensure very high data accuracy and consistency.

However, if a company is late to file their SEC reports then that can cause the updates of the financial data to be delayed.

Although most companies file their reports very soon after the earnings calls, some companies can take many days to file their reports -- even weeks in rare cases.

Why is your data different than the data on another finance site?

Like other finance sites, we get our data from third-party data providers.

Because there are tens of thousands of stocks and funds in the world, it is impossible to gather all this data manually.

For this reason, data providers need to partly rely on automated methods to gather all the data.

Different data providers may use different definitions or collection methods, causing there to be differences in some data points between finance sites.

If you think we have an inaccuracy somewhere, please let us know at contact@stockanalysis.com.

I see an error in the data. What should I do?

Please send an email to contact@stockanalysis.com and we will look into this right away.

We look at every single error report and fix it manually and work with our data providers to ensure that the error is also fixed on their end.

Do you offer an API?

We don't offer API access at the moment. We license our data from third-party providers and we don't have licenses to redistribute the data in most cases.
